Tarte Smooth Operator Amazonian Clay Illuminating Serum

This illuminator works beautifully with the amazonian clay foundation. It adds a perfect glow to the skin that looks natural and radiant. A little bit goes a long way, just a few dabs and you are good. I used this mixed with my foundation and areas I focus on are my cheek bones and the bridge of my nose. What I love most about this serum is that its free of oil, fragrance, parabens, sulfates, petrochemicals, GMO's, and synthetic dyes!

This product retails for $32

Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation

This is my new favorite foundation! Its unlike any other foundation I've tried. The texture is like a thick, whipped mousse. However, it does not look cakey or feel heavy/thick on the skin. In fact, it feels very light and airy! It goes on very smooth and blends extremely well. The best part? This foundation is free of oil, fragrance, parabens, sulfates, petrochemicals, and GMO's! I definitely recommend this foundation for anyone looking for a more natural foundation that looks airbrushed and flawless!

This product retails for $38

Makeup Products of February

Some new makeup products I've tried so far this month include Cover Fx Camouflage Concealer, Kat Von D Tattoo Concealer, and Laura Mercier Long Lash Mascara.

Now for the reviews...

The Cover Fx concealer was not so great. I got samples of it and all the colors I swatched on my skin were orange. Even the lightest one had an orange tint to it so I came to the conclusion it was not worth the purchase. I don't know if the samples given to me were tainted or old but I was not impressed at all. This product retails for about $27 at Sephora.

Kat Von D Tattoo concealer wasn't bad! It however did not cover my four leaf clover tattoo on my wrist. I put a few layers of it on, even with a primer to prep my skin, and you could still see the tattoo. For claiming to have the power to cover tattoos I was thoroughly disappointed. I was not impressed whatsoever with what this concealer claimed to do, however, it did cover the scars on my face really well! For other purposes other than covering tattoos I would re-buy this product. This product retails for about $25 at Sephora.

The Laura Mercier Long Lash Mascara was okay. Not the best mascara I've used but also not the worst. My eye lashes are naturally long so any product that is too watery makes my lashes look thin and wispy and tends to weigh them down. This mascara was really thin and I found I had to put 2-3 applications for it to cover all my lashes and do what it claims to do. I currently use this on top of my Dior Show mascara for that EXTRA oomph! This product retails for about $24 at Sephora.

Lush Brazened Honey Fresh Face Mask

The first thing I noticed about this mask is that the ingredients are so fresh and natural, the product needs to be refrigerated! It comes in a 2.5 ounce tub so it doesn't take up too much space in the fridge. I got this particular face mask because it has fresh organic lime juice, honey, and freshly ground almonds and almond oil in it. Other fresh ingredients include sage, free range eggs, fresh ginger roots, fresh parsley, and ginger oil just to name a few! The smell is wonderful and it feels so fresh and clean on my face. The almond grounds exfoliate the dead skin cells while the honey soothes and acts as a natural antibacterial. The ginger root extract helps calm angry skin and the Kaolin pulls out dirt and impurities leaving the skin soft and glowing. When I removed the face mask from my skin, I immediately noticed that my skin was softer and brighter! It also helped remove some black heads I had, which was nice! I definitely recommend ALL Lush products because they are 100% natural, hand made, and most importantly (for me) animal cruelty free!
